PRESENTATION
A PROGRAM WITH MULTIPLE IMPACTS
With the support of the French NGO Up2green and its local partner VIKALP (accredited by The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – UNFCCC and The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification – UNCCD), 10 330 fruit and forest trees were handed over to 215 families to be planted between July and September 2019.
All these volunteer families, spread over 13 villages, have signed a planting agreement on the land they own and are therefore beneficiaries of the TEAMWORK programme. They will be supervised and monitored for 5 years by Himanshu Banker, VIKALP’s administrator-manager, at the end of which the trees will become their property.
The benefits of the program supported by TEAMWORK are wide-reaching, from socio-economic to educational and environmental.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
A PROGRAMME IN LINE WITH THE "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES" OF THE UNITED NATIONS AND UNESCO
The program we are funding entirely meets 3 of the 17 “Sustainable Development Goals” adopted in 2015 by a large number of Heads of State and Government, senior UN officials and representatives of civil society during the 70th session of the UN General Assembly, in which UNESCO actively participates:
Socio-economic and educational benefits
Benefits for local families
Rehabilitation of their land and therefore the soil
Economic resources
Technical knowledge
Environmental benefits
Ecology at the heart of our concerns
CO2 storage
Biodiversity conservation
Management and protection of water resources
Take action
CSR & eco-responsibility
To raise the bar even higher in terms of CSR and eco-responsible, TEAMWORK has chosen to finance a community reforestation and agroforestry programme for 10 000 trees in India’s Tapi District, Gujarat State Province.
